|
|
This forum has been very quite since the last round 2009, without much of an intro by the new board. Reading the front page of news, it is inclonclusive still some 3 months later, tenders out but new work behind schedule.
Who are our new board members, what are they doing for the club do they race etc ? What is happening with our club, when do we start racing? Do we start racing on a old but usable for most vehicles track or do we have to wait for the 'tenders' for a new track to be completed, so probably nothing happens til 2011? The calender has not been updated. Do we plan to go south or interstate to race?
Anyone know any answers. We just want to go racing, even if its just street meets would get us going. |

Committee is listed at http://www.hiddenvalleydrags.com/contacts/ and were introduced at the AGM and presentation night. Majority are the same as last year with a few new faces including Sam McNeall (partner of Rob Harrison), Allan Arthus, Tony Gabel and the new president Peter Lockhart who is the brother and uncle of two of the bike racers.
Calendar hasn't been released because annoucement of Superbike round has caused a direct impact to calendars for all users of the complex and and originally planned construction period. Superbikes were announced AFTER calendar had been provisionally agreed to in November/December.
While other clubs have released calendars that now have to be changed, we opted to hold off until everything was in concrete.
Original timeframe was to see work finished by end of April, early May. This has now been cancelled due to Superbikes running during this time. NTG now has to go back to see when it can be done, pending their feedback next week, after which all clubs will set their 2010 calendars again.
The announcement has also affected tenders which is why no announcement has been made as to preferred tenderer. |

Thanks for the reply Jay. Even not being president anymore your the only one doing things for the club it seems, well done.
Some 3 weeks after the meeting with NTG still no update on HVDRA. Why, how did it go? I see plenty of people are reading this post wondering no doubt.
So do we believe the rumours, is there only going to be a couple of street meets ? So the track not going to change until 2011? Some truth would be good (thats if we read other forums about HVDRA with multiple pages of updates about this club) from our actual committee.
Apparently a really good year last year for fans, events & money into the club, wonder what will happen this year??? Any events happening we should start to get ready for?
Any calender?
Thanks anyone. |

as well as a concise update from the committee on the upgrade
No update 3 weeks ago as things were still up in the air and unconfirmed as DPI had to answer some questions around availability.
When you have a lockout for Superbikes, a lockout for V8's, Powercruise, Sprint Car Titles and then construction there aren't that many weekends but some events are better than nothing and allows people to still come have a blat |

The question has been asked about his season. Well as a racer and committee member I can tell you that trying to get information out of Government about the starting date on the upgrade has been like extracting teeth. It has been and continues to be a frustrating time. The good news is that there will be at least three meetings. Which consists of 2 street meets and 1 finale open meet, we are trying to negotiate a third street meet. As Jay said it is getting increasing difficult to find a date which doesn't conflict with other events.
I have already taken a brief look at 2011. Next year we have to factor in V8's with their 4 week lock out, the superbikes with their lock out and the Arafura games which take over the complex for push bike riding. When you take all this into account and then factor in Bass in the Grass, Darwin Show, Speedway, etc;it becomes a juggling act. Be be assured that we are working on it, as we All want to go racing! |
